Not about gender
A card set for a new mindset! This card-game brings on the table the discussion about gender with humor, and helps the ones who play with it to question their stereotypes related with gender. Because at the end this life is Not About Gender.
The dynamic goes like this: players have to generate a description of a fictional character. For example: who's the real inventor or glitter, or who's the first Victoria's Secret angel. How? in rounds they take cards from a card-deck and build a profile description following a 1-2-3 order. Cards with the number 1(one) have substantives, with the number 2(two) a profession or activity, and number 3 (three) actions. The idea is to build the most absurd and funniest character.
Not About Gender uses the basis of English grammar structure to help the players to realize how unconsciously the language reinforces our gender-related stereotypes.
The game and its dynamics were designed following a design process approach based on rapid ideation and prototyping. Where testing was essential to find insights and validate assumptions on how to games are a tool to talk about gender issues. The next are some of the prototypes developed during that process.
